Ag and Conservation Groups Outline Western Priorities to Biden DOI
In this letter to incoming Department of Interior Secretary Deb Haaland, the Western Agriculture and Conservation Coalition (WACC) advances four recommendations:
- There is value in preserving and retaining the Water Subcabinet created by former President Trump
- The Bureau of Reclamation should increase investments in multi-benefit irrigation infrastructure
- Continue to allow grazing on public lands
- Implement the Endangered Species Act in a manner that promotes and recognizes the value of voluntary conservation and supports a cooperative approach to native species management
The Alliance helped create the WACC – a collaborative coalition of constructive agricultural and conservation organizations. This letter continues to show the strong value of our coalition.
